Classic Combination Mini Cooper

Classic Combination

Stockton to Malone.  Ketchup and mustard.  Cereal and milk…European cars and BBS RS.

There are some things that just work out.  Take Jino Abad’s Cooper S sitting on a set of perfectly built BBS RS wheels.  There is no denying the heritage that the Mini Cooper has, so the combination is nothing short of stunning.

Keeping things simple, the engine modifications are at a minimum.  Simple catback exhaust, chip, and intake were applied.

Starting off with an already recognizable platform, the car sits KW V2 coilovers.  The stock set of wheels were ditched in favor for the BBS wheels.  Unsatisfied with the stock width, the wheels were given widened lips.  To fit the wheels under the fenders properly, tires were stretched with the entire setup receiving some fairly aggressive camber.  All these make the difference as, amazingly enough, the fenders were left untouched; no roll, no trimming.

In the world of European cars, stock bodies and a very low ride height reign supreme.  Jino’s Mini is no exception.  The car literally sits inches away from the ground.  It is nothing short of amazing considering that this was a daily driven car, especially given the shape San Francisco roads are in.

It’s one thing to be ambitious and to fall flat on your face, but its clear that there was a goal set.  While the mod list is rather short and modest, the ultimate goal was achieved and pulled off perfectly.  The car sits aggressively while maintaining the classic look the Mini is known for.  Given the respect this car garners straight off the show room floor, Jino did nothing more than compliment the car with his own touches.

Cheers,
